How do I go about getting a concealed weapons permit in South Carolina? Q. First off, where can I find a basic handgun education class because I know that I have to take one in order to get my concealed weapons permit. All Of The Following Must Be Submitted, Or Your Application Will Be Returned. 1. A completed application, including signature and date. 2. One face color photograph of person applying. No larger than 1 x 1 . 3. Photocopy of your valid Drivers License or Identification Card (application and DL/ID address must match) 4. If you are a non-resident, you are required to submit a Real Property Tax Form (SLED Form R-168) completed by the County Assessor of the County in which the property is located in South Carolina, verifying ownership of real property. 5. Training is required unless you are exempt. (Exemptions are listed on back of application. 6. Two (2) complete sets of fingerprints, (card(s) attached or available by calling 803-896-7014). 7.
